SCIENTIFIC-TECHNICAL
CENTRE (STC) "DIAGNOSTICS"
SRC "DIAGNOSTICS" was established on the base of a century-year old
scientific-research complex and follows in the footsteps of the Azeri
oilmen who have for many decades developed, built and operated onshore
and offshore oil and gas fields.
The
strongest point of SRC "Diagnostics" is its highly-qualified scientists
and specialists in all walks of science and technology, the creators
of the oil industry of Azerbaijan, with a fortune of experience gained
both at home and abroad, capable to put into practice any challenging
engineering ideas. This allows the Centre to undertake work aimed at
solving both urgent and routine problems in all fields of industry and,
due to its flexible organisational structure, to enlist the best Azeri
specialists.
SRC undertakes the following works:
1. R&D for numerous
projects
- construction
of offshore oil and gas-producing hydrotechnical facilities, such
as pipelines, piers, stationary platforms etc.;
- provision
of optimum facilities for offshore oil and gas fields;
- production,
transportation and storage of petroleum products;
- exploration
and assessment of reserves of onshore and offshore oil and gas fields
and other mineral resources;
- geologic mapping
of territories;
- finding solutions
for environmental problems;
- creation of
steels, alloys and composite materials for different applications;
- development
of corrosion-prevention means (varnishes and paints, metals, polymers,
cathode protection etc.) for onshore and offshore facilities and equipment
with consideration for working conditions and aggressiveness of the
medium and using, to a maximum extent, local raw materials and wastes;
- development
of inhibitors and bactericides of universal action;
- development
of decorative, protective and high-viscosity materials;
- development
of toiletries, cosmetics and washing materials;
- development
of medical preparations;
- creation of
mathematical models and expert systems for different technical, technologic
and production processes taking into account natural and climatic
phenomena;
- establishment
and refining of normative and methodological base for different fields
of science, technology and industry;
- setting up
specialised automated databases for different fields of industry,
agriculture, science, culture and life; - production of consumer goods.
2.
NON-DESTRUCTIVE CONTROL AND DIAGNOSTICS for assessment of a technical
state of installations, facilities, process lines, equipment and communications:
- offshore facilities
such as offshore pipelines, piers, platforms, mooring berths etc.;
- pipelines serving
different purposes and communication means for them;
- welded metal
constructions;
- reservoirs
and high-pressure containers;
- equipment and
communication means for petroleum, gas, energy, machine-building,
oil-refining, petrochemical and other industries, agriculture, water
supply etc.;
- floating facilities.
3. PRODUCTION
AND SERVICES
- scientific
and technical products in the form of "know-how", projects, guidelines
etc. in accordance with paras. 1 and 2 above;
- small-scale
and batch production of protective, non-metal, metal decorative coatings;
- low-scale and
batch production of pharmaceutics, toiletries, cosmetics and washing
materials;
- production
of consumer goods;
4. JOINT VENTURES
AND COOPERATION
- establishment
of enterprises, workshops and production facilities in different industries
and agriculture using modern technologies and waste-utilisation processes;
- establishment
of scientific and technical institutions, laboratories and educational
institutes for co-operative activities;
- establishment
of cultural, sports, medical and other complexes;
- reconstruction
and re-equipping of production lines and industrial objects of Azerbaijan;
- formation of
commissions and working groups for the purpose of finding expert solutions
to scientific, technical and industrial tasks.
