THE FORTH BAKU INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS

“ENERGY, ECOLOGY, ECONOMY”

The Fourth Baku International Congress "Energy, Ecology, Economy" was held on 23-26 September, 1997 under the UNESCO auspices.

The main purpose of this Congress was to discuss and disseminate the latest knowledge in energy technology and its consequential environmental effects, including the research on the Caspian ecology and the “Contract of the Century”, the Northern and Western oil pipelines and Silk Road issues. The Congress also considered the related economic and social aspects as well as planning and policy issues.

The Fourth Baku International Congress was organised by:

Opening Session included an opening speech of the Congress chairman, F. Aliyev and keynote addresses from F. Magsudov, the president of Azerbaijan Academy of Sciences, N. Aliyev, president of SOCAR and M. Imanov, president of “Azerenerji” JSC as well as welcoming addresses from the Government and UN representatives, Foreign Ambassadors and the representatives of foreign companies.
