DEPARTMENT "BUILDING COMPLEX"

Building Complex is one of the main and important parts of a national economy and fulfils a special function. Being one of the investment industries, not only does it create an expanded reproduction of the fixed assets in all other industries but also plays an important part in economic development, development of technology, balanced development of economy and its planned re-equipment, rational allocation of productive forces, development of new territories and new directions of industry etc. Being both a generator and consumer of fixed assets, the building complex is directly related with problems of ecology, energy and economy.

The main directions of the work of the Department are:

  • development and realisation of projects in economy, ecology and energy, related to the Building complex;
  • solution of problems relating to development of new territories, urban and rural development;
  • rational utilisation of land resources for construction development;
  • finding solutions for wide application of alternative energy sources in the construction industry;
  • problems of engineering seismology and development of new measures ensuring reliability, stability and seismic resistance of buildings and other facilities;
  • forecasting of future development of the building complex and its integral parts;
  • improvement of the industry's management; - solution of problems of material and technical support of the industry using local natural resources and industrial wastes.

The Department includes 5 sections.

SECTION: PROJECT DEVELOPMENT

The main objectives of the section are: development of projects and solutions using new approaches taking into account requirements of the triad: Economy, Energy and Ecology; finding new architectural and planning solutions for building and constructions with due regard for local landscape and environmental requirements; ensuring seismic stability and strength of buildings and constructions.

SECTION: CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS AND STRUCTURES, BUILDING INDUSTRY

The objectives of the section: development of projects and solutions for rational utilisation of the local natural raw resources, industrial wastes; rational positioning of construction materials manufacturing factories and construction enterprises; optimum development of new fields; preservation of the existing environment; environment protection in mining raw materials; development of modern materials and structures.

SECTION: CIVIL ENGINEERING

The objective of the section is: development and realisation of projects and solutions: - organisation and technology of the building industry; - engineering and management of the industry; - management of the building complex.

SECTION: TOWN-PLANNING

The objectives of the section are: development of fundamentally new projects in town-planning, urban development, regional planning, landscape architecture, restoration of historical objects, principal directions in the theory and history of architecture.
