The
energy complex of Azerbaijan plays a leading part in the whole economy
of Azerbaijan and represents a great interest for the world's economy.
The
main task of the transition period towards a civilised market-orientated
economy is a science-based development of possible options for the energy
complex of Azerbaijan to enter the international system.
The
main directions of the department's work are:
- development
of a scientific concept for economic integration of Azerbaijan with
consideration for its role in the world's energy complex. Research
works relating to economic integration and taking into account interests
of Azerbaijan, countries of CIS, Caucasus, Middle East, Central Asia,
Europe and the American Continent;
- economic expertise
and development of new options of the economic concept for different
global programs, such as " The Contract of the Century", etc.
- investigation
of economic problems of transportation of energy resources in the
period of transition to new economic structures and taking into account
geopolitics;
- economic analysis
of investment support of separate energy-related projects with consideration
for achievements of the world technology in this area;
- development
of an economic concept of the Caucasian Region and its integration
in the world's energy system;
- economic expertise
of new energy-saving projects and economic mechanism of energy-saving;
- economic reform
in the energy complex with the aim of its integration into the world
economy and regulation of natural monopolies;
- socio-economic
problems of the energy complex ecology and training scientific specialists
on the problems of the International Economy of the Energy Complex.
