DEPARTMENT "GAS"

The main objectives of the Department are:

• development of organisational and technologic principles for effective functioning of the fuel and energy complex of the Republic under emerging market relations.
• development and implementation of a strategy of effective, reliable and environment friendly energy supply for the state economy and domestic needs, with consideration for development of all industries.

"Gas" Department includes 4 Sections.

SECTION: GAS SUPPLY

The main objectives of the Section are development and implementation of Upgraded Master System of Gas Supply of the Azerbaijan Republic including modernisation of gas communications, development of modern technical facilities for maintenance of gas pipelines, implementation of environmentally-safe energy-saving technologies for regional gas-supply projects.

SECTION: UTILISATION OF GAS

The main objectives of the Section are development and implementation of new technological procedures, technologies, solutions and legislative acts aimed at higher efficiency of gas utilisation at all levels.

SECTION: LIQUID FUELS

The main objective of the Section is development and practical implementation of technical solutions, technological procedures, new kinds of fuels, technical means and normative documents aimed at satisfaction of the Republic's demands in liquid fuels and various chemicals.

SECTION: SCIENTIFIC FORECASTING AND EXPERT SYSTEMS

The main objectives of the Section are

• establishment of scientific principles and conditions for extensive application of modern information technology and systems and computer technology and setting up a Republic automated data base for the general system of gas supply;
• development of principles of establishment of the Republic data base for the general system of gas supply;
• determination of global and urgent local problems of development forecasting, accidents diagnostics and means of prevention of environmental catastrophes;
• development of recommendations and organisation of research work with the purpose to find prospective solutions and their adaptation to the Republic conditions; - establishment of contacts with similar services in foreign countries.
